Practical service
School inclusion and additional learning support
Start a discussion with the school about access, participation, absences and learning needs. Additional-support decisions follow educational assessment rather than diagnosis alone.
- Provider
- Inclusive Education Support Services
- Eligibility
- A diagnosis alone does not establish entitlement. Ask the provider to assess the person’s needs and current programme criteria.
- Application
- Ask the Head of School or inclusion lead about a coordinated meeting and whether the Statementing process or other support is appropriate.
- Documents
- Prepare existing relevant professional reports and a description of practical classroom barriers; the school should confirm what it needs.
- Cost
- Charges or exemptions are not established here. Confirm directly before making arrangements.
- Referral
- Discuss formal referral and assessment steps with the school. A diagnosis does not automatically establish LSE entitlement.
- Funding
- This is not a promise of a payment, reimbursement, place or equipment allocation.
- Contact
- Use the contact details on the official page.
